When DisplayWorks’ client California Tourism set out to plan their event marketing program for the 2013 International Pow Wow in Las Vegas, they were looking for something fresh and new. An opportunity arose when they were extended some exhibit space within the Pow Wow’s Sponsor Luncheon, to be held at the Las Vegas Convention Center. DisplayWorks and our integrated marketing team, Brand B Marketing, went to work brainstorming ideas to fulfill the clients’ event vision — to give attendees a chance to visit California hot spots over lunch and to pose for some memorable “Kodak Moments”.
Our event marketing team took photos provided by the client and sourced colorful props and talent to stage five engaging photo opportunities that could deliver the essence of California in a snapshot: Luxury Shopping with a Kim Kardashian lookalike, The Beach with a surfer and custom branded surfboard, Napa Wine Bar with hosts and wine samples, Farmers Market with a farm girl, and the Hollywood Walk of Fame with a Marilyn Monroe impersonator. To help engage event attendees, we hired “paparazzi” style photographers to provide some energy while photographing guests.
The vignettes and photo activities were a hit at the luncheon event, giving guests a memorable brand experience while helping the “Visit California” marketing campaign stand out among other sponsors exhibiting at the luncheon. DisplayWorks would like to thank California Tourism for the opportunity – this event marketing activity was a great way to showcase customer engagement with creativity while we explored all that California has to offer.
