Vizio was the official HDTV Sponsor of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival 2011. This annual 3-day event draws nearly 100,000 fans into the California desert heat to enjoy the music, fun and festivities. Concertgoers seeking relief from the scorching sun this year found it alongside cool 3D technology and entertainment innovations inside the Vizio Freedom Lounge. This 3D oasis, set within a 40′ x 40′ outdoor tent, centered around a large artificial shade tree branching out of a planter full of Vizio HDTVs. Surrounding display areas gave visitors a chance to experience 3D Home Theater, check out Vizio VIA Internet Apps, and revel in 3D gaming while relaxing in the comfort of plush bean bags. Vizio screens tapped into social media feeds provided a viral snapshot of the Coachella experience as they streamed live Instagram pics being uploaded by concert attendees. Fans left their mark on Vizio’s signature wall, and received autographs of their own as they mingled with bands like Fun and Cage the Elephant in comfort of Freedom Lounge.
