to Bring a Customer Lobby into the Future
Irvine Ranch Water district headquarters was looking to refresh a high-traffic area of their building — the main customer facing hallway/entrance to their facility. The goal was to create something with a fresh and modern look that could serve as an interactive education tool for the local community and customers – young & old – that visit the headquarters.
DisplayWorks assembled an expanded creative team to work on the concept. This team included a creative lead, digital strategist, 3D designer and our programming team. Our holistic approach helped generate a solid messaging angle and interactive concepts to go along with the display and aesthetics.
Working with the water district, we refined our concepts and interactive elements to help educate customers on all of the districts water sources and give visitors a better understanding of where their water comes from. Our interactive tools were targeted to both an adult and child audience by incorporating a fun interactive touch screen experience.
The interactive app we created featured an illustrated storybook starring "Aqua Duck", a rain coat clad cartoon duck character, the water district created to appeal to children. The app’s playful story let’s kids explore and learn about the water cycle as water evaporates and forms clouds before returning to earth as rain that fills our lakes, streams, and rivers.
The final project including the design, build, installation and digital integration dramatically transformed Irvine Ranch Water Districts’ facility. In addition, making over their lobby, provided a perfect example of our expanded services and multi-disciplined teams working together to deliver an exceptional turnkey solution.
