Parrot was looking for two unique venues to showcase their A.R. Drone Quadricopters, in flight, at the ultra-high energy show that can only be E3. The A.R. Drones are controlled in flight by iPhones or iPads. To see them fly, or better yet, fly one for yourself, is to want one. DisplayWorks designed two beach themed flight demo areas with an air race flavor, including colorful pylons and obstacle rings, where attendees could see the A.R. Drones in action. A large 50’x50′ exhibit in the main show hall incorporated iPad demo stations framed by bright orange life rings set on top of wooden pilings laced with rope. Six tons of sand covered the floor while netting rising 20 feet high wrapped the fly-zone and drew inquisitive visitors in to watch as the A.R. Drones filled the air with energy, performing choreographed flights synced to the beats of a live spinning urban DJ. A second, 30’x40′ exhibit space on the outdoor concourse provided an additional touch point for Parrot and gave attendees an opportunity for hands-on demos.
