The Mac Store is the oldest and largest locally owned and operated Apple reseller in the Pacific Northwest. DisplayWorks’ Portland team has partnered with The Mac Store since 2006 for the numerous fixture designs and opening of eight new stores across Washington and Oregon. The company’s latest store opened its doors at the Westfield Capital Mall in Olympia, Washington in September 2011. The mall was already home to national electronic retail heavyweights, Best Buy and Radio Shack, so the new store had to make a strong statement while showcasing the essence of The Mac Store’s unique and specialized brand that gives them a loyal customer following in the region.
We began the project with evaluating the needs for the new store, including those of the client, property management, contractor and the building departments. We worked through space planning and designs to help carry on The Mac Store reputation for providing a great shopping experience, high-end service and hands-on product demos. Once the designs were finalized we provided drafting services and architectural drawing sets to complete the build and installation. All displays and fixtures were custom built domestically with an eye for finish and detail set to compliment the store’s sophisticated product lines. Our final design gives The Mac Store a modular mix of retail fixtures that helps unite all of their stores with a consistent look while providing flexibility to adapt their displays across a wide range of configurations in each location.
